The Mission of the Down Syndrome Association of West Tennessee to enhance the lives of individuals with Down syndrome by providing programs and support, information, and education to those individuals, their families, professionals, and the communities that make up the West Tennessee region.
The DSAWT was formed in 2004 by a group of volunteer parents of children with Down syndrome with assistance from other organizations interested in providing accurate information about Down syndrome and peer support to families in the West Tennessee region.
Today, the DSAWT is a non-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt organization that is led by an eight member Board of Directors. The DSAWT provides social and recreational opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, resource information, and peer support.
The DSAWT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization funded by private support from individuals, businesses, community organizations and fundraising efforts.
